It occurs to me that we're going to Mickey's Halloween Party tomorrow and I've only barely mentioned it up until this point. So let me talk about it now!
Those of you keeping score at home probably noticed that our work schedule was in absolutely no shape to be twisted around to fit in time for sewing. (Although we might have been able to throw something together in the last week, but then so much for a relaxing vacation.) Gaston and Alice were fully aware of this obstacle, and so once again we fell to one of Gaston's costume ideas, which usually consist of, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we made this set of costumes steampunk?" But then we didn't have time for that, either.
Nevertheless, what with the new Fantasyland expansion at Disney World having Gaston's village, and people taking tons of videos of Disney World's Gaston and posting them on the internet, our Gaston figures the villain is making a comeback, and so will our cosplay group of Gaston and the Silly Girls. Only this time with new and improved movie version Gaston! I'm not sure why that's going to happen, but I'm sure it will look great.
This year may or may not also feature two new characters: Belle and Maurice! We've only heard updates from Gaston about his own costume, so we don't know whether or not this is going to be a thing, but if it is, Alice's parents will be cosplaying with us (they are definitely coming but not definitely wearing costumes), and her mother will wear the third Silly Girl costume, Alice will be Belle, and Alice's father will be Maurice. So we'll find out how that goes tomorrow.
In the meantime, I am just a little bit bummed out that we don't have new costumes, but when I think about how busy and stressed we've been, and how much more busy and stressed we would be if we threw sewing into the mix, I'm not that upset about it. We do have some pretty cool ideas we'd like to do, but they require some design work which we just do not have time for. Maybe someday, in the Mythical Time... *wistful*
But our outfits won't be completely devoid of newness, because Alice has made some super fancy trick-or-treat bags in honor of Disneyland's 60th anniversary! Of course there will be pictures taken...maybe someday I'll actually post some, too. Eh heh.
And now! we need to make sure we know where all our costume pieces are.
Today I'm thankful for having friends to go to Mickey's Halloween Party with, having a delicious Hershey's chocolate mousse cake, getting to watch Noragami Aragoto last night, having a new Equestria Girls move to look forward to watching, and having something to wear to the party even if it's not new.
