Well, it's official. We got the email this morning to inform us that we did not get tickets to the Kingdom Hearts fan event. Siiiiiiiigh. On the one hand, it's kind of a major bummer, but on the other hand, it's also a relief. I was feeling especially nervous about the prospect of going to Japan last night and this morning before we checked email, so when I saw the emails from the ticketing place, I was a liiiittle scared. But this is kind of pathetic, our not going to Japan thing. It is definitely going to have to change! But now we have a little more flexibility with it, which is good because of our work schedule.
Speaking of which. We haven't gotten any new deadlines, thankfully, and more importantly, we had an important realization. If we plan our schedule according to what's already on our calendar, and make sure to add a whole week for a vacation, then when editors come along and ask when we can get stuff done by, we can still make sure we have time for a vacation! It's brilliant and exceedingly obvious. That being the case, we're planning to take a week off in a couple of weeks. (Of course, I can think of a couple of things that could throw a wrench into that, but we'll just hope and pray that those things don't happen.)
In the meantime, we did take today off for some recharging, and we've spent most of it playing Devil Survivor, so in a sense, we're still working. We were trying to decide what video game to binge on, and we thought about how long it's been since we turned in the last volume of Devil Survivor manga...and decided we'd better go with that one, because our game progress is only just barely ahead of where we are the manga. Nevertheless, it's been pretty relaxing.
Also, we got an email from FedEx indicating that we should be getting some manga today, which would be perfect! Skip Beat and Urakata would make a great addition to a lovely day off. But the tracking information hasn't changed at all since we got the email, so that might not actually happen. It's cool either way, though, because the alternative is to bake cookies and watch some of the new season of sitcoms.
But first, exercise! We finished the True Beginner workout program, and we thought it would be a good idea to keep stepping up to more advanced workouts, so we tried a new one yesterday! It's called "Move!", and it's all kinds of dancing, and it looked like a lot of fun and didn't require us to buy any exercise equipment. ...And we got halfway through one video before we decided we couldn't take it anymore. (It was a lot of fun, though.) So now our goal is to master True Beginner to the point where we can do Core 3 with hardly any trouble, and then we'll see about trying something more advanced.
Today I'm thankful for getting to enjoy a lovely day off, having some flexibility as far as planning trips to Japan (now we can wait to go until after we receive our super awesome travel jackets), the super awesome travel jacket people sending us the survey about what color and style we want, finally deciding what we want to do about our workout plan, and obvious scheduling strategies to hopefully help us get a vacation.
