Well, I just got off the phone with the USPS message system. When I checked the mail, we had a package slip! But instead of saying we could go ahead and pick the package up in the office, it said we have to go all the way to the post office to get it, and the post office is not really within walking distance. And our home teacher just left on an out-of-state vacation. AND! the slip said the package would be returned to sender on the eighteenth! That's only three days away! Aaaaaahh!
So we went to the website to schedule a redelivery, but the website said we couldn't. I tried calling the phone number to get some answers, but instead it just walked me through the redelivery request system. I'm okay with that if it means getting our package, but since the website told us they couldn't redeliver to our address, I'm a little bit anxious. I don't know what we're going to do if it turns out we can't get packages delivered to our apartment anymore. Also, I would have no idea what the postal system even exists for. Seriously.
In other news, we watched Anastasia last night. We might have seen it once since it was in theaters before now, and that would have been shortly after it came out on video. When it was in theaters, we were extremely prejudiced against it, because it wasn't Disney. These days, I like to think we're a little bit more open-minded about our animated entertainment, at least in regard to where it comes from, so I was very interested in seeing it again. But we still didn't love it. Too much zombie humor, for one thing. And we had a hard time following the character development. Like, we didn't really get how the love story worked.
After the movie, since the end credits music ended with Once Upon a December, and we think that song sounds kind of creepy, we decided to lighten the mood with some Ouran High School Host Club. We were too tired to choose an episode, so we went with our default favorite, episode five. We enjoyed it as usual, but then we got ourselves worked up talking about how singletons don't know what it's like to be surrounded by people who are never really sure if you are who they think you are. On the one hand, it's probably hard on the other people, not wanting to be the one to make the potentially offensive mistake, but when people stop trying, and like everyone you know really has no clue...we're really starting to see why Hikaru and Kaoru gave up on the idea of being part of anyone's world but their own.
Eh heh, I didn't mean to make this an angry post, but it's hot and we just had a package not delivered. I should be more optimistic though, because it's possible that with this redelivery we'll finally get that electric violin! Because even though we are expecting other packages, we weren't expecting any from USPS today.
Today I'm thankful for having a chance to schedule a redelivery (here's hoping it works!), getting to watch Anastasia again, having Host Club to sort of cheer us up afterward, getting plenty of sleep last night, and happening to check Kingdom Hearts [chi] in time to fight an ashu boss.
