In other news, we finally finished our second draft of Noragami. We only have three pages of notes this time! There was a thing that maybe we should write notes on because of the, "Huh? I don't get it." factor, but...we don't get it, either, so we're not really in a position to explain. Does somebody know about how jars or pots might be related to good luck? Or earning money really fast?
Oh man, but it was hard today. We spent like half an hour just getting past the first page! Of course, part of that was figuring out how to write a note, which for some reason turned out to be harder to write than we expected. I worry about Noragami, because when we do the editing, we end up with a lot of starting and stopping. But that's why we do a third draft, so it should be okay in the end.
Of course, there's always the possibility that there would be less starting and stopping if we'd try harder to get it right the first time. Why don't we do that, anyway? I know a lot of the time we use the "we need more context" excuse. That was definitely a valid excuse yesterday...when we were working on something else. But hey! we came back to that scene, and everything the characters were saying made a lot more sense now that we knew what they were getting at! Anyway, I guess we'll just have to keep that in mind for future Noragamis.
On the other hand, there was a lot of stuff that we looked up today that had me going, "Yup, I remember looking this up at all these websites the last time we got to this part." So maybe it really is just that hard. I don't know. We'll see how volume three goes.
Today I'm thankful for finally finishing that draft, our regular grocery store stocking Ghirardelli's minis (and having them on sale), Page pouncing on the tip of her tail (she was sitting curled around the leg of a chair), having one of our dreaded chores (grocery shopping) out of the way, and Magnum ice cream bars also being on sale.
