On the bright side, we got to watch The Little Mermaid yesterday, and oh my goodness, almost twenty-five years, and I finally figure out that Eric was so reluctant to kiss Ariel because he thought he was in love with somebody else. (In my defense, I was never confused--I just didn't ever think about it.)
The Blu-ray has a bonus feature that talks about all the live-action reference they shot for the animators to use as reference, and it was so awesome! All the contraptions they came up with to mimic awesome camera moves and stuff. Oh man, you should totally watch it. (One thing it doesn't mention, however, is that the motion model for Ariel was also a writer for Animaniacs and the voice of Slappy Squirrel. I think she's still younger now than Slappy was in Animaniacs. Or she ages really well, like Dorian Gray and June Foray, but it's hard to be sure, because her name doesn't end in -ay.)
I guess I could mention the other thing (other than work, I mean) that took up our time today, which was a trip to a thrift store with our neighbor and fellow ward member. A friend of hers is having a cosplay birthday party, and she (the neighbor) invited us to tag along, so we were going to see if we could piece together some quick costumes. I think we found some good stuff for our neighbor, but the two of us will have to rely on some of our past costumes, which is only really a problem because we're so bad at organizing our storage. The other problem, of course, is that we don't have time for anything.
Today I'm thankful for getting to watch our Little Mermaid Blu-ray, that super fun bonus feature, our scones turning out okay yesterday, our books coming from Amazon, and it being time for a nice long break.
