Aaaanyway. Yesterday stuff happened, I guess. We have a new accompanist for the choir, which is good because that means I get to sing in the choir! Yay! Unfortunately, we have Artistic Differences. That wouldn't be so bad in and of itself because we can be professionals, but there is a problem in that she has arranged some Primary songs to have some very nice piano accompaniment...and those songs are not written for a multi-part choir. So we were constantly having to ask what notes we were supposed to be singing, and sometimes she'd pick some notes, and sometimes she'd...not? It was kind of strange. And the choir director was out yesterday, so she was in charge. One of our fellow altos said she could see the steam coming out of my ears, I was so frustrated.
But! we're making an effort to be more positive all around, so we remind ourselves that the accompanist is new, and we can't expect her to be perfect. She does play the piano very nicely.
After church, we went to Mom's house for dinner, and everybody was there! Well, not everybody exactly, but Sarah and her family, and Celeste and her new fiance. We played Cranium, and then for some reason Mom had a roll of masking tape, which she would take little pieces off of and hand to Celeste's fiance, who would then stick them onto Celeste. Then Sarah's husband got in on it, and by the end of the night, Celeste was covered in little pieces of masking tape. I really can't think of anything to say about it.
Today I'm thankful for fancy new Tiger & Bunny t-shirts to look forward to getting (the offer said something about free Pocky and the first 300 shipments, but come on! it's Tiger & Bunny!), not making as terrible progress on work today as the beginning of the day threatened, our fellow alto being kind enough to share some See's chocolate eggs with us, having a fun time playing Cranium with everybody, and the neighbor's pretty cat being all cute outside our window.
