See, this morning, we checked our regular websites, and Anime News Network reported the second Disney: Koe no Ouji-sama CD. We knew there would be another one, but this still took us off guard, just a little. So of course, we immediately searched for the official website and oh. my. goodness! Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! We need this CD so badly!!! Nnnnnnngh!!! And! it's coming out in a mere two weeks! Two! weeks! From today!!
So of course we raced over to CD Japan...who likes to claim the series no longer exists. We search for Disney Love Stories, and we get nothing. Wha...? That's okay; we'll just find the first one and it will have "related items." So we searched for Disney Date...nothing. We searched Koe no Ouji-sama...nothing! We even went to our order history, found the item in question, and clicked on the link...NOTHING! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
CD Japan! You have to let us order this CD! Why do you hate us!? Aaaaarrrggghhh!!!
Anyway. The CD looks like it will be rather excellent. Or in other words, "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
At the website, I was scrolling down just because, I guess, and then I saw the very top of the track list, and I was like, "Oh, I don't know if we want to see this or if we want to be surprised." But I had scrolled just a teensy tiny bit too far, and the first name was already visible. And Athena saw it, and she was like, "!!!!!!"
The one name we never expected to see! Akira Ishida is on this CD!! Akira Ishida! ...But he still doesn't sing. He does a recitation. But we were really happy to see that, because...
Last night we finally listened to our new Saiyuki drama CD, and it forced Sanzo Ikkou to perform Cinderella. The group arrived in town and were mistaken for the theatre troupe and had to put on a play for the children Or Else. (Or else the mayor would blacklist them from everything, and they wouldn't get food or lodging; they were out of food and cigarettes, too.) So he tells them it's Cinderella, and Hakkai's like, "Oh good; if we don't have time to read the script, then we should still be able to manage." Sanzo was like, "Oh, is the story that simple?" And Hakkai's like, "...What?" Nobody else knew the story of Cinderella. And Gojyo was like, "I don't care about fairy tales!" But that was okay, because Gojyo is Gojyo, and we happen to know that his voice actor is a Disney fan. Still, it always makes us wonder about our other favorite voice actors.
Also, they had pictures of all the voice actors who will be in the CD, and they were all wearing Mickey Mouse shirts! Except for Kouichi Yamadera who, as the voice of Donald Duck, of course was wearing a Donald shirt, and Takahiro Sakurai, who apparently is a major hipster, because he was wearing an Oswald shirt. (We've come to equate Oswald fans with the term "Disney hipster.") I'm not sure I'm okay with that, but on the other hand, it does indicate that he really likes Disney (in a know-it-all kind of way :/), and his story about how he got to be Cloud at the Final Fantasy anniversary site was adorable.
Speaking of Sakurai-san being a hipster, he's singing La La Loo! That song is so obscure I don't even know how to spell it! Oh, but it's been stuck in my head all day now, and oh, imagining his voice singing it...♥♥♥ Also, he's not the only one singing obscure songs--Hikaru Midorikawa is singing Love Is A Song, and Nobuhiko Okamoto is singing...a song from Oliver & Company that I can sing bits of, but I'm not sure what the title is in English. "You and me together will be. Forever, you'll see♪" And we're like, "Gaaah! Why didn't they go to AX!?"
There is one very sad thing about it, and that's that Miyu Irino isn't on this CD. What the heck, Irino!? What the heck!? He was our favorite on the first one. But our second favorite, Tomokazu Seki, will be back, singing You'll Be In My Heart! To which our response is again, "!!!!!!"
...I really don't think we're conveying the amount of emotion that we're feeling right now. Oh well.
Ryotaro Okiayu is on it, too, singing Bella Notte. We always wondered if he was a Disney fan, since Dissidia Duodecim came out and he tweeted, "I wonder if they'll ever put Kingdom Hearts characters in it." Of course, that might have just been because he plays Terra, who would be a good KH candidate for a Dissidia game...
Oh! And the Deluxe Edition comes with a second disc that has duets! Duets! Oh my goodness! And Sakurai-san will be singing one of the parts in See the Light! Aaaaahhhh!!! And! the best part about it is that there are only four songs, but twelve tracks, because, for example, there's a version of Beauty and the Beast that is sung by "Tomokazu Seki & U". We saw that, and we were like, "U? Who's this U person?" (Yuu is a Japanese name, after all.) And then we were like, "Oh! YOU! EEEEEEEE!!!" We...actually probably wouldn't take much advantage of that, but having the option will be awesome. (Incidentally, the website did confirm that theory by saying something like, "U is anata!", only, like, all in Japanese.)
Anyway. We're excited. And massively frustrated. We will order this CD from Amazon Japan if we have to. For crying out loud.
Today I'm thankful for finding out about that CD, getting to hear Sanzo Ikkou perform Cinderella, the adorableness of Page covering her face right now (I don't think it's because she's embarrassed of us, or else she'd just leave the room, right?), making good progress on work today, and finally managing to get the Japanese IME set up on our computer.
