Second, the other day we got a link to this article about interpreting for General Conference. It talks all about the process and what makes it a challenge and stuff. The really scary part is when they say they only have one chance to get it right. I'm glad to be a translator, where we have as much time to tweak our translations as we want (until the deadline).
Third... um... progress is being made on costumes, but it's kind of in the "boring progress" stage of progress. Oooohh, I cut out fabric. Fascinating... ...I shouldn't talk about it like that, because it is important. There's just not a whole lot else to say about it.
Oh! in the excitement of cosplay stuff yesterday, I forgot all about our package! We got manga! Yay! And we still haven't even opened the packaging, because we did not have time for manga yesterday. I'm not sure if we'll have time for manga today, actually, but we might. We'll see.
Normally we'd go out to Family Home Evening tonight, but this week they're going roller skating, which would be super fun except for the fact that we need to pay nine dollars each to get in, and we're supposed to be on a strict "not very much splurging policy," which we're having a hard enough time sticking to as it is. But on the other hand, this time it would be for a church activity, while most of our current splurging is just for us. Except for the velcro we bought for the Lumiere costume, but that's still kind of for us, in the sense that I still feel like we railroaded our friends into Beauty and the Beast cosplay. Ah well.
The other reason we might not go to FHE tonight is that the weather looks a bit like it might get loud and flashy, and we'd rather not be walking outside in it. But then again, maybe it won't. So I guess we'll just see what happens.
Today I'm thankful for neat articles about interpreting, friends who are happy to explain things, shiny new manga to read (in the unspecified future), finishing our Gakuen Alice translation, and all the great chapters in volume sixteen.
