After waiting far too long because I was being stupid, we finally called Mom, and she had Steve tell us how to turn the toilet's water supply off and drain the tank. Tadah! But by that time, the puddle seemed to be drying up, and we thought it would be fine, so we didn't do anything about it until right before bed, when we realized that yes, the tank was still leaking.
The maintenance guys are here right now, and they're just about finished fixing everything. It's kind of amusing to listen to them, because any time they notice anything that could need fixing, they get ready to fix it. It seems like they really like their job.
On the other hand, it's also a little distracting to have people in the apartment. We went to turn in our Maid-sama! script today, and didn't realize until we finally checked e-mail a lot later that we had forgotten to attach the files. We probably would have found out sooner, but we were trying to occupy ourselves and stayed away from e-mail longer than normal. But that's okay; the important thing is that our toilet is completely fixed now! Yay!
We actually took like an hour long break to deal with the aftermath. We had two soaking wet bath towels that we had to wring out. We're definitely going to be feeling that tomorrow; we are such weaklings. And my fingers are so stunned from the hard work that I'm having an even more difficult time typing probably. Mom says we can go wash them at her place, which is good because we're out of quarters for laundry. Then we had to dry up the floor and mop it. Whew.
In a complete change of subject, yesterday we got to try the new Chips Ahoy! cookies with real! Reese's peanut butter cups inside. We have determined that it would be a very bad idea to buy them too frequently, as we ate the entire package in one sitting. (There were only eighteen cookies in the package, and nine each really doesn't seem like that much... It's only one digit, after all...) But it's all okay, because wringing out those towels probably burned off all those extra calories (we're seriously very weak). Then we found out that they also make Heath Chips Ahoy! cookies! Oh no!
Today I'm thankful for having our toilet fixed (I realized earlier today that I could have titled yesterday's entry "Potty Emergency;" at first I was upset, but now that I've typed it out, I'm glad I didn't), Reese's Chips Ahoy! cookies, the hope of one day getting to try Heath Chips Ahoy! cookies, finishing our Maid-sama! 8 translation, and the help and advice we got from Mom and Steve during this crisis(?).
