We were hoping to finish work early today, but there was enough research to take us to almost our regular quitting time. However, that did not! deter us from finishing our hats! Tadah! (That "tadah" would be a lot more effective if I had a picture, but... oh well.) Just in time to wear them as we walk in the cold weather to Family Home Evening tonight. We knew it would get cold again! Er, we suspected it probably would get cold again. At any rate, it's cold again, so we can wear our hats.
We also got to order some manga today, which was very happy! because we haven't been able to in a long time, but also a little hard, because we had to decide what we could do without, since we're trying to save money. We still ended up going overboard a little, because after we made our order, we found out the store we ordered from actually did not have Maid-sama 5 in stock, and that was the one we really needed. So instead of canceling the order entirely, we asked them to ship the rest of it and order Maid-sama from another store.
See, the first store was the only one that had Kieli novels, and we sent all of those back to Yen Press after we got fired from them. They didn't ask for them back, and it's possible they wouldn't have minded if we'd kept them at least long enough to read them, but we didn't feel right about it. But now we're ordering them again because we really do want to read all of them, and we've decided that we need to do a lot more reading in both English and Japanese. And like, "real" reading, not just manga. Of course, that opens up the debate as to whether or not manga counts as "real reading," but the point is, we need to read more prose. And as long as we were going to keep the one book in the order, we might as well get the rest of them, too, right?
And now Page is making very, very strange noises as she bats an ancient Blow-Pop that she unearthed somehow all around the apartment but more especially the bathroom. Apparently she finds it highly entertaining, as she would not be distracted from it.
Today I'm thankful for going to the back last night, getting to stop by Michael's for yarn needles, getting to finish our hats, having nice warm hats to wear as we walk through the cold, and finally getting to order manga.
