And now we're just kind of puttering around, taking care of a few things that need taking care of. And since I don't know what else to write about, how about some San Diego Comic Con pics?
When we got on the train to head south, I noticed these spiky things for the first time. Must be to keep the birds off. They're actually all over the street lights lining the road to the Disneyland parking lot, too, which makes me a little sad, because they're not very welcoming. But on the other hand, neither are piles of bird droppings.

Union Station in Los Angeles is decorated with a... shoot, I'm sure I'm going to get the style wrong, so maybe I'll just let you all figure it out yourselves. Anyway, it looks neat.

One thing that had us excited about the loooooooooooooooooooong train ride was that we would get to see the ocean!

Here's our fancy-pants hotel room.

And the view therefrom.

Our bike taxi guide told us that the mountains you see in the background (assuming they aren't all shrouded in fog) are in Mexico!
Finally, our first view of the convention. We were too late for most of Preview Night, so we checked out the dealers' hall and found very unique My Little Ponies.

Ah, memories.
This was taken when we got lost and realized, "Hey, that's the exhibit hall! Let's get a bird's eye view shot!"

Ikuto from Shugo Chara!:

That thing he's resting his hands on is a violin case. It wasn't until later that we saw him playing his electric violin with the same Midvalley we photographed at AX.
Quail Man!

I wish I had been able to get this Freakazoid from a better angle. I'm sorry for my poor photography skills!

Disney villains! Squee!

You can't really tell because there's no one to compare them to, but if we remember correctly, these were chibi troopers.

Zombie ice cream!?

We've only been to two Comic Cons, and the first one was over ten years ago so we don't remember much of it, but I really don't think the convention would be complete without a disco trooper.

And there you have it! ...well, some of it, anyway. Tadah!
Today I'm thankful for being done! with the fanbook (dun dun DUN), getting to have Baked Ruffles to celebrate, all the various people who helped us find references and spellings and stuff, the girl we were rooting for the whole time winning this cycle of America's Next Top Model (but then we were really sad for the other girl; she'll probably be fine though), and having plenty of Wildlife Explorer Cards and Classic Composers CDs to keep us busy because I think we're going to have to cancel those subscriptions.
