Of course, it could also be partly because we've been acting a little crazy today. We ditched work to go buy fabric. We spent a while agonizing over which colors of fabric to buy, and in the end, we're really happy with what we got, but frustrated that these "peasant" costumes require so much fabric. We'll have to do some experimenting before sending Belle to buy fabric for her costume--we might be able to alter things so as to require less fabric. None of us are swimming in money enough to just buy all the fabric for everything, sadly.
Also this time, I decided to go the extra mile and actually pre-shrink the fabric. It was a practice I had given up on based on the fact that, by the time we're done with everything, chances are the costumes should be dry-clean only anyway, but these are peasant costumes and all, so.... It's only extremely aggravating in that, now that the fabric's been through the dryer, it all needs to be ironed before I can sit down and start cutting things out. Now that I have a pattern and instructions (so I don't have to worry so much about trial and error, which is the number one cause of cosplay procrastination in Nibley twins (fear of irreparable mistakes)), I'm pretty eager to get to work. Except that we both hate ironing, so the eagerness has subsided significantly. It's not like it's even hard, and yet...
In the meantime, we have a bunch of manga reading to do, because the one-shot anthology by Natsuki Takaya has a short bonus story for Tsubasa o Motsu Mono, so we want to have read the series. It's fun to take time out to read manga, but we have so many other things to do! Aaaaahhhh! Oh well, I'm sure we'll get it all worked out.
Today I'm thankful for finding pretty colors for our costumes, Mom sharing her coupons, learning new facts (like how broadcloth handles the dryer better than Country Classics), having a punch needle, there being a relaxing (or so we hear) art involving something called a punch needle, and Castle being on tonight! Yay!
