It's picture time!

We realized today, after talking to Donald, that yes, we did take the easy costumes from Beauty and the Beast, and when people are facing making a costume for somebody like, oh, Cogsworth, they might be likely to say, "Hey, let's do something else instead." This will take some thought, but we have a pretty creative group, I think. We're determined. Also, Athena came up with a really cute idea for stylized Lady and the Tramp costumes, but we'll have to save those for another time. Unless everyone really is like, "Yeah, Beauty and the Beast is too hard."

In the meantime, we have a bunch more Anime Expo pictures to post!

This was a major blast from the past. We had to ask him to make sure he was who we thought he was.

These are the people from the Power Rangers villains table. From left to right, it's Lord Zed, the Quantum Ranger (if we're remembering correctly), and Rita Repulsa.

This guy always does fancy light-up robot costumes. We think this time, he's from the police Power Rangers.

Just as we asked this cosplayer for her picture, she got a phone call. The irony of Gau using a cell phone (I don't remember his story exactly (we haven't played FF6 in years), but he was basically raised by wolves or something) was so hilarious we had to get a photo.

Then we got one of her doing a real Gau pose.

We think these two just happened to show up around the same time, and weren't actually part of the same cosplay group, so it was an amazing coincidence. That Aysha (or however her name is spelled) was really funny and in character.

One of the events they have at Anime Expo is the Gothic Lolita Midnight Tea, where people can either dress as their favorite goth-loli characters or design goth-loli costumes based on their favorite characters, goth-loli or otherwise. Here's a gothic lolita Fay, from Tsubasa Chronicle (we think she won the contest, but we don't remember these things).

Similarly, there's the Masquerade Ball, which is like the midnight tea, only with ball gowns and other formalwear (e.g. Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler) instead of goth-loli outfits. Here's a ball gown based on Menchi from Excel Saga (she also won an award, but we don't know which one):

We didn't get everyone in the first photo, so we got two pictures of these guys.

Awesomest Tutu group ever.

And two photos of the bag check, but you can't really make out the signs, which was really the only reason we took the pictures. Sad.

And finally, this is a picture of the main character of Witch's Tale, a game that's coming out... soon...? from Nippon Ichi Software. It looks super cute, and we want to get it... if we have money.

And those are all the pictures we took at Anime Expo this year. Coming up next time (whenever we get around to uploading photos), the pictures we took at Disneyland the next day!

Today I'm thankful for having finally uploaded all our AX09 pics (come to think of it, we never finished uploading our AX08 pics...), getting a friendly visit from our home teacher and friend today, the awesome testimonies we got to hear in church today (there was one guy who was in prison, and was totally planning on going back to exactly what he was doing as soon as he got out of prison, when suddenly he realized he needed to change), having plans to go fabric shopping tomorrow (they fell through yesterday), and still having pie to eat later tonight.
