Also, Mimsy had a bit of blood dripping from her mouth, which had us freaking out for a while. But the vet is closed on Mondays, and we figured she probably won't bleed to death, so we're going to call in the morning and see about taking her in. She seems fine now, but she was vigorously scratching at her mouth earlier, poor girl.
Anyway, I promised pictures, which is the whole reason we're back to begin with!
This one's for lyschan
There was this really awesome Cloud cosplayer, and right as we went to get his picture, a Sora cosplayer ran up wanting to get a picture with him. And his keyblade kept getting in the way of Cloud's face. (We love the character Sora, but we rarely photograph cosplayers of him, because there are so darn many of them. Cloud, too, but this guy was amazing.) Anyway, it made an amusing pun--cloudy sky!
I finally realized to move to the other side of them.
And there's Chocolat in the background!
Amazing Gurren Lagann group:
We were walking out of our hotel on Friday morning and there was Miracle Mikuru, fighting the evil witch!
As the translators on Negima!, we couldn't resist photographing this group:
Apparently Ran was replaced by Tadase-kun?
Even some fans of the game series this guy is from might not recognize this character:
Wow, it's Mikan and Kagura!
Unfortunately, they vanished before we finally figured out that this was Natsume and not someone from Shugo Chara!.
After I took the picture, I commented that it would have been just perfect if she had been reading shounen manga instead, and she said, "This is shounen manga." And we thought, "But Saiyuki Gaiden is in Ward, and Saiyuki is not a shounen series." Checking Japanese Wikipedia, Ward is kind of a spin-off of Zero-Sum, which is mainly a josei magazine. Fact check: check!
After hours in line, we finally got Toshiyuki Morikawa's autograph!
Oh my goodness, someone is cosplaying Disney's Robin Hood!
It's become pretty popular to design costumes inspired by Pokemon. Some of them are really really cute.
See the one guy holding his leg up? I made the mistake of commenting about how hard it was going to be for him to hold that pose while all the millions of passersby took their picture, so he started resting his foot on his friend. It looked much better before he did that.
We like Ace Attorney cosplayers!
I kind of get the feeling Terra is more popular among cosplayers these days, but it could just be that I'm noticing more after playing Dissidia.
PS: Pretend the blurriness is caused by her magical powers.
Very cute, using wigs instead of making giant ears!
Despite the fact that we don't actually watch Precure (we got to it too late; the enormity of episode numbers has us daunted--but the fact that Miyu Irino is in it might eventually convince us to plow through it all), we decided to get their picture. Ironically, it wasn't until after I took the picture and walked away that Athena was like, "Hey, isn't that [our friend who cosplays a bunch of magical girl stuff]?" Now we feel a little bad for not saying hi.
And we have a bunch more, but we don't want to slow computers down with too many pictures all at once. So tadah!
Now we have to see about writing a column.
