As for the Nabari anime, it was alright. It had pacing problems, though. Or maybe they weren't problems so much as not what I expected. Like the things I would have expected to be slowed down for dramatic emphasis kind of went right on by like, "Hey, they're already at this part?" and the things we would have sped up for comedic effect were slowed down. Maybe they were trying to be unique. We only watched two episodes, though. And it was really weird, because we realized we weren't going to see Nabari until it got licensed, so we decided to just look up the cast instead of waiting to see who played whom, so we knew who played Kumohira-sensei, but it was still really weird to hear such a low voice from that actor. Everybody else was about what we expected, though.
As for today... today is the release date of volume one of Banri Hidaka's newest series, Berry Berry, and we are very very very very sad that we didn't get a check in the mail. (We decided we can't order manga until we get a check in the mail.) Fortunately for our will power, Kinokuniya doesn't have it in yet, so we don't need to worry about the temptation to overrule our decision. At least not until tomorrow.
In the meantime, we made the mistake of listening to a La Corda d'Oro CD for our last hour of work today, which of course has us wanting to spend the next few days doing nothing but play Corda. (Corda is very addictive, so once we start it, we usually won't stop (except for food, sleep, and other essentials) until we're done.) Probably not a good idea. Although, it's looking like we'll be able to turn this translation in tomorrow and maybe take Friday off... Hmm...
Today I'm thankful for finally getting to see the Nabari anime, Kinokuniya not yet having Berry Berry today, getting to eat Baked! Ruffles today, finding the Gurren-Lagann DVD we wanted to watch last night, and the Gurren Brigade strategy meetings.
