First, a cute couple as movie version Van and Hitomi.
Hopefully it will come out with the right side up. We've had to rotate too many photos already to get these to work, and we're tired of it. Why oh why oh why won't Photo Bucket let us upload our portrait orientated pictures as portraits?
The obligatory Sailor Moon group:
Presenting Xeno, one of the AX mascot characters! We did want to ask him for a photo, but we kept having to run around doing stuff, and by the time we caught him, he was busy, so we snuck a photo of him from afar (then cropped it, so it looks like it's close up).
This guy was classic:
We like her big floppy ears:
Now we start to see what the Twins' favorite series was this year!
(We think it's amusing to see other cosplayers in the background. Hey, look! There's Hatsune Miku!)
Ikuto cosplayer wins.
We got a bunch of pictures of this Ranma group.
They're all chilling...
They're ready for battle!
Howl's Moving Castle:
...we're not sure if these other people are from the same movie (we haven't seen it in a while; we should fix that).
Must always photograph Momiji!
We may have had to give up Katamari due to motion sickness and too many games to obsess over, but she was too cute.
Incidentally, there was a king guy wandering around at Anime Detour. We got his picture, too, but our camera died before we could get it on our computer, and we're not sure if we can anymore.
Apparently Kiki is very popular with the boys.
Ghibli was very well represented this year.
Athena even saw a Satsuki wandering around, but we didn't get her picture.
Bonus points if you recognize this couple!
This was taken in line to the Toshiyuki Morikawa panel. I'm not sure if that means there's any symbolism in Aerith wearing the dress she wore to Don Corneo's... Probably not.
We think the girl on the left is a Heartless with a Keyblade? That doesn't really make a lot of sense, though.
We took a looooot of pictures at the Morikawa panel, and here we present to you exactly one.
See that orange hair in the foreground? That was a Ravi cosplayer, and the camera kept trying to focus on her wig for some reason, which is why most of the pictures didn't come out very well. But there was one very interesting one where everything was blurry except for Translator Guy's face, which was in perfect focus. Very interesting.
Maybe someday we'll see the rest of Shaman King...
It's always so heartwarming to see tiny cosplayers.
The woman we assume was their mother had a Lakitu costume that we really wanted a picture of, but she took a long time getting it ready, and we couldn't get her attention, and it just didn't happen.
To illustrate what little attention we pay to any kind of armor we see in anime/video games/whathaveyou, we walked right past this guy on the right and had no idea who he was until I caught a glimpse of his cape and saw the symbol for Ivalice (Final Fantasy XII). We're still not entirely sure which judge he is (we think he's Gabranth), or if the person next to him is from the same game.
I seem to remember there being something about this samurai that got our attention... Athena thinks he was at the... dang it, what was his title? Consul General? I'll have to check the report... Anyway, we think he was at that booth.
And finally, Amulet Spade. That heart symbol is harder to make than it looks.
Also, that pile of stuff at her feet is not an uncommon thing to find around a cosplayer at a convention. It brings back memories...
Wow, that's a lot of picture at once!
Today I'm thankful for having taken landscape pictures, Mimsy being less stubborn about keeping our chairs, the tuna juice helping with the medicine (she still hates being force fed, but at least she'll swallow it now), tuna having more juice than we thought (so we need fewer cans), and photo hosting websites.
