I woke up today with "bitter fruits" in my head. Just the title says that that is not a good sign. I really need to stop being bitter, but there's this evil little voice in my head that keeps saying that if I stay bitter, maybe someone will notice and things will change. That voice is a big liar, although as of volume 15 of Fruits Basket, Tohru's lack of bitterness doesn't seem to be helping her much either. Still, probably the best way for things to get better is for me to just not see them as being so bad, because they're not really... at least they're probably not.

That's part of why I tried that gratitude journal thing last week, which obviously I've not kept up. The reason for that is, despite my love of Yuu Watase serieses and other such sap, there are some forms of sentimentality that kind of make my skin crawl, and saying "I'm thankful for..." and the like over and over is one of them. I'm really not sure why. So maybe if I change the wording to things like, "I'm happy that..." because I say stuff like that all the time. So let's try this again.

I'm happy that we get to eat Fruit Loops today, because we bought milk yesterday.

I'm happy that Haley Joel Osment became an actor.

I'm happy that we get to watch EyeShield21 and Ueki no Housoku.

I'm happy that such a game as Final Fantasy IX exists.

I'm happy that Soichiro Hoshi likes singing; it almost makes up for Akira Ishida's lack of singing.
