What else happened today? We got our Fushigi Yugi Suzaku Ibun game from Play Asia today. Well, actually we got it yesterday, but we didn't check the mail to find out it was in the office until today. It doesn't matter too much; we're still in the middle of Chain of Memories, and close enough to the end that it would be silly to interrupt it in the middle. And we also have to play through the Ace Attorney games again (or at least certain cases) for research purposes, so it could be a while before we get to it. It's kind of crazy, because we have our work schedule, and our play schedule. And both of them are way too full! But they're both pretty fun, so it's okay.
We still haven't worked out some details about AX. Some of them aren't that big a deal, like what should we wear to the Meet the Guests Reception. On the one hand, maybe we want to be cute and girly when we talk to Toshihiko Seki, so we'd want to be Lacus and Meer from Gundam Seed Destiny. But on the other hand, we want him to know that we like Saiyuki and everyone involved in it, and one of the best ways to do that would be to wear our Goku and Hakkai costumes. (We also sent Kazuya Minekura a fanletter a long time ago with pictures of us in those costumes at Disneyland, and we're curious to see if maybe she showed them to him. We have our delusions *grin*)
Other details are very important, like how the heck are we going to get there. We took the train last year when it was at Long Beach, and that worked pretty well, but mostly because the train (or rather Amtrak Bus) stop was only a few blocks away from the convention center and hotels. Maybe that's the case this time. We'll have to look into it. We tried inviting our anime buddy to go with us, but she has classes. We haven't entirely given up on that idea, but she is studying things that she kind of needs to make sure not to miss. Maybe someone else in the ward would like to go, but they're all so good at not talking about anime that it's difficult to tell if anyone would be interested. Oh well; things have a habit of working out.
One of the writer's block suggestions recently was something like "what words have you found wise enough to live by?" and I always think of Captain Tylor. He said his philosophy is just do what you feel is right, and the rest will fall into place. We've found that to be pretty true. Sure there's still adversity, but we just keep doing what we think is right and the rest tends to work out. Sometimes faster than others, but yeah.
Today I'm thankful for the Aqua Splash sleight (and we thought Tornado was fun!), the 7-11 selling our brand of catfood, patience, finishing work early enough to run some errands, and cool thunder sound effects.
