Athena came to the realization the other day that if we don't start watching anime again, our Japanese listening comprehension skills could be in danger. We haven't been watching much, because we stopped downloading and we're too hung up on video games to be super anime Netflixers. If that makes any sense. But, in light of this new realization, we did update our queue, and it's pretty long.
Also, we went over to Bandai Channel and played around to see if we could figure it out. It seems to be a pretty well hidden fact among American anime fans, but Japan actually does have websites that stream anime. I guess American fans don't care about those because they don't have subtitles. I think we have to pay to watch most of the stuff we want to see, and so far we've only been able to figure out how to watch the free stuff, but we did only poke around a little bit, so I think it was a success. I'm pretty excited about it. Eventually we'll figure out how to watch Gundam 00!
Changing the subject, this Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday. Mom called after she and Steve came and cleaned our apartment and mentioned that she didn't get to see the cats, so we said that they're more likely to come out if Steve's not around, since they know Mom and hate strangers. (Steve's only been to our apartment about four times or less in the past three years, so to them, he's as good as a stranger.) So I suggested she come over on Sunday and we could do non-football-related things. She seems to like the idea, but apparently Steve's having a bunch of people over for the super bowl, and it would seem she doesn't want to miss out on the party. So now she's inviting us over to watch movies on the little TV in the bedroom while everyone else is in the living room with the big HDTV watching sports. This seems to us like a bad idea, so we're thinking no, but we can be suckers sometimes, so we'll see. But if Mom ends up not coming, our current plan is to maybe watch Sailor Moon Musicals, so that's pretty exciting.
Today I'm thankful for streaming anime, Michiru Nishikiori, Japanese listening practice, chocolate pudding, and being able to get robust carapaces.
