An unbirthday present? For me?

It's always so exciting to get complimentary copies of the manga we translate. Or it is, until we realize that we're not going to read any of them, and neither is anybody else around. The only solution is to mail them away to interested people, but then we're like, "But...! But it's my shiny manga..." It's silly really, because, like I said, we're not going to read them, and of course we have multiple copies, so we could keep one, but... but... We're terrible.

Anyway, as you may have guessed, we got comp manga today!! Woohoo! I Hate You More Than Anyone volumes 2 and 3! Take that! (<--Meaning unknown)

The above is an example of how chat columns in manga influence our writing style.

Anyway, we were especially excited to get volume 3. We thought we might have gotten it early, but then we checked RightStuf and apparently we haven't. But! volume 4 comes out on our birthday! so it's all good. Also, volume 3 has the picture of Arata that we really want to use for an icon (y'know, once we get a USB cable for our scanner). Oh it would make such a good icon. Come to think of it, volume 4 doesn't have nearly enough Sugimoto. That is sometimes a problem with the series as a whole, though we think it's getting better as the story progresses. He's kind of the main guy, so I should hope so.

In other news, a banner at AnimeOnDVD reminded us that Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is coming out on DVD very soon! (I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to italicize my exclamation points or not. It doesn't help that when you're using HTML, it doesn't show you so you can't see what looks better. Sigh.) I was going to go order it, but I got distracted because if Dot-Anime wants people to order from them, they need to have a larger selection. Oh well, RightStuf's got an ADV sale going on anyway.

Today I'm thankful for shiny new comp manga, well-timed ADV sales, awesome pictures of Arata to make icons with, manga coming out on our birthday, and having finally won that one battle in Revenant Wings. (Balthier's all like, "You let win!" and we're like, "As if! That was the first battle we had to go level up for!" But after I thought about it for a while, he must have been basing his reasoning on the fact that we had been so utterly destroyed the other times we fought that battle, and the only possible way we could have won would be if she let us.)
