After the rain

First, of course, happy birthday chibidrunksanzo! I already did the "may your days be merry and bright thing" last year, so I have to come up with a new joke. Um... monkey?

Yesterday was all rainy, which was Awesome. For some reason, I'm in a "rain is awesome" mood. Actually, I usually think rain is awesome, but sometimes I don't. But anyway, today, the sun came out, and that was even more awesome. I decided that After the Rain is the best weather, which phrase is also a good metaphor for life. Life being good is so much more awesome when it was just not-so-good. The problem with that, of course, is then you have to deal with the metaphorical rain, but, as stated before, rain can be awesome. Just wet.

Aaaaanyway. The Jehovah's Witnesses came by again today. They gave me a pamphlet on something about death. I feel bad taking their pamphlets and not reading them, especially because reading them allows for much better discussion. With this one, when the guy pulled it out, I kind of smirked, because we talk about the Plan of Salvation and what happens after death all the time in our religion, but I didn't think to say, "Oh! I know this one!" I really ought to speak up more sometimes. Like now, for example. I could go into what we believe. But now I'm too lazy to go into the explanation. But if anybody's curious, please ask!

In other news, Dad's wife's daughter is having a baby in April. We probably wouldn't even know about it if Dad hadn't thought it would be nice to tell me that they'll be going to visit her in Okinawa when that happens. That would have been better news if not for two things. First, I had just told him that we decided not to go on the tour because when we remembered taxes, we weren't entirely sure we could afford it after all. And second, he seemed downright discouraging at the suggestion that we tag along. Although it is true that it's usually not a good idea to invite yourself anywhere. And it kind of works as a motivator, because it's like, "Who does he think he is, going to Japan before us? He doesn't even like Japan! Er, anime. Anyway! We'll show him!" So I guess we'll have to keep an eye out for ways to show him.

In the meantime, Sarah is finally on her way to take us grocery shopping! Yay! So I'd better end here.

Today I'm thankful for having a ride to the grocery store, after the rain weather, matching gold star stickers (eheh), surprise phone calls from favorite cousins, and more motivation.
