The advantage of this is that now we get free pumpkin bread. I'm still not sure how I feel about pumpkin bread, actually. But Oreo seems to really like it. Except that he'd leave unfinished pieces on the floor and look up at us asking for more. And we're like, "Cat, there are four pieces of unfinished pumpkin bread on the floor. You're gonna have to eat those first." But he'd keep looking up at us until he realized we really weren't going to give him anymore, and then he walked away. Weirdo. And then we had to throw away all the pieces he didn't finish. But he gets away with it because he's made of adorable.
Barnes & Noble didn't have the manga we wanted (birthday present for Kimee), so Mom asked if we wanted to try the Borders across the street, because Borders usually has a bigger manga selection. The strange thing about this is that Mom seems to be making an active effort to avoid reading any manga, so why on earth would she know anything about what the manga selections were like at different bookstores? Maybe it's from going manga hunting with Grandma...
MEME TIME! (taken from kabochan)
Q. What is your wallpaper on your computer?
A: It's been the cover of Saiyuki Reload 8 for a long time now, but we've been wanting to change it. Much as we love Saiyuki, sometimes you need to change your wallpaper.
Q. How many televisions are in your house?
A: Just one.
Q. Are you right-handed or left-handed?
A. I'm left-handed; Athena's right-handed.
Q. Have you ever had anything removed from your body?
A. Teeth, splinters... Do clothes count? What about fingernails?
Q. When was the last time you had a cavity?
A. Probably right now for both of us. Eheh.
Q. What is the last heavy item you lifted?
Q. Have you ever been knocked unconscious?
A. I haven't, but Celeste knocked Athena out with a croquet mallet when Celeste was three and Athena was six.
Q. If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die?
A. That would be a negative. We'd keep panicking about how little time we had left and making sure we spent it in just the right way. We have the same problem every time we go to Disneyland without an annual passport.
Q. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
A. I think we'd be hard-pressed to find awesomer names than the ones we have now.
Q. What color do you think looks best on you?
A. We never really noticed. Maybe black? Mom says red. Athena was complimented once when she was wearing pink.
Q. Have you ever swallowed a non-food item by mistake?
A. Probably. Long time ago. Though living here, sometimes I feel like maybe I have swallowed something just by breathing. Like lint or something.
Q. Have you ever saved someone's life?
A. Not that either of us can remember.
Q. Has someone ever saved yours?
A. Not literally, I don't think, but there was one AX where we were super stressed and we ran into a friend who acted so genuinely happy to see us that it made life seem a lot more worth living.
Q. Would you kiss a member of the same sex for $100?
A. Is location a factor?
Q. Would you allow one of your little fingers to be cut off for $200,000?
Q. Would you never blog again for $50,000?
A. That's an interesting question. Probably not. We like to pretend we're connected to the outside world too much.
Q. Would you pose naked in a magazine for $250,000?
A. A magazine? Probably not.
Q. Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1000?
Q. Would you, without fear of punishment, take a human life for $1,000,000?
Q: What is in your left pocket?
A: My left pocket is currently in my imagination, so pretty much anything I want.
Q: Is Napoleon Dynamite actually a good movie?
A. We actually haven't seen it.
Q: Do you have hardwood or carpet in your house?
Q: Do you sit or stand in the shower?
Q: Could you live with roommates?
A: We tend to have very very bad luck with roommates, so we're going to say no.
Q: How many pairs of flip flops do you own?
A: Between the two of us, one, and it's for my Eisen costume.
Q: Last time you had a run-in with the cops?
A: Um... they were going to pick us up for the March of Dimes event thingie, but since we couldn't get any donations, we canceled. Other than that... um, sometimes a police officer comes to FHE to teach us about self defense?
Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: The ultimate dream is to be voice actresses in Japan. Failing that, what we're doing now is good.
Q: Friend you talked to?
A: Each other.
Q: Last person who called you?
A: Okay, this was really weird. I said, "Hello?" like three times, and then someone said, "...been in St. Peter's for the past six months?" and I said, "Uh... what?" and they hung up.
Q: Person you hugged?
A: Sue, on her way home from FHE.
A: um... Athena's going with 9, because it's her favorite Final Fantasy, but she also tends to like 6 ("It is a perfect number, after all.") I'm going with... I always like 2...
A: Spring!!!! (Clay theorized that it's called "spring" in English because it makes you want to bounce around like a spring.)
Q: Missing someone?
A: If I think about it, I could probably think of someone...
Q: Listening to?
A: Nothing. What's up with that?
A: Me typing.
Q: Worrying about?
A: The new format. Well, not so much worried as kind of annoyed.
Q: First place you went this morning?
A: The kitchen. Or the computer, if it counts, but it's right next to our beds. If we have to have actually left our apartment, then the office, to put stuff in the mail and sign the lease.
Q: What can you not wait to do?
A: Talk to Sarah about that thing we read about this morning.
Q: What's the last movie you saw?
A: The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Q: Do you smile often?
Q: Are you a friendly person?
A: We like to think so.
Today I'm thankful for pumpkin bread, having groceries, Reese's Puffs cereal, flexible work schedules, and kitty photo shoots.
