I just have to say that I'm in love with the fabric we got for Eisen's middle kimono. So pretty. We still don't have anything else for him though. It's almost as if he doesn't want to be cosplayed.
My goal was to finish sewing together everything I'd cut out for Donald, Goofy, and Eisen and then I would be free to finish Lacus and Meer either tonight or early (which really means before lunch) tomorrow, but I didn't factor our home teaching appointment into the equation. As soon as our home teacher and his companion (I don't know if they finally assigned him a new companion or if Josh was just nice enough to come along with him) left, I was like, "Okay, I'm done." Because I forgot that being social with people who aren't very close friends takes all my motivation away, even if I had fun.
It actually was a very fun visit. Aaron finally gave us the photograph he promised us for our birthday (he's a photographer), and they both showed interest in our costumes, which is always nice. And Josh, the martial artist, was shocked and appalled to hear about the sword incident, which we really need to stop bringing up.
The highlight of the visit, and this goes to show how incredibly deprived we are, or how much we need to get out or something, was when we were talking about the weapons policy at AX and we mentioned Cloud from FFVII, and Josh knew exactly who we were talking about. We were so amazed. And then he said you'd have to be able to spin the sword, and we all sang the victory music together. And then we launched into a conversation about Final Fantasy in general, and we felt bad because Aaron was so bored, but it had been so long since we'd been able to talk to someone, not online, about Final Fantasy.
So yeah. I did manage to get myself to work more on Eisen while Athena made macaroni & cheese. I probably would have finished him before Aaron and Josh came over except that my Goofy mantra wasn't working that well, and I had to redo his collar. I don't know if I'm going to get back to work tonight, though. Especially with that manga staring at me...
