Pre-emptive reactivation

It's kind of funny how God makes sure jokes don't get too serious.

This morning, we're waiting for Mom to come pick us up and take us to church, and the phone rings. It's Steve telling us he's almost at our place so we can go wait outside for him. Yippee.

So while we're waiting for him to arrive, Athena says, "That's it. I'm going inactive, starting today." Not, of course, that she actually meant it; more like, if going to church meant getting a ride from Steve (we confronted him about the sword thing, as we hadn't really seen much of him since then; when we explained that what he did could be considered assault, all he did was say, "No wonder you're mad at me; you thought I assaulted you. But I didn't," and changed the subject), she might rather be a sinner. She was joking. She has no intention of going inactive, even if it does mean she sometimes has to get a ride from Steve.

So while we're waiting for Sacrament Meeting to start, the missionaries come up to us and say, "It's good to see you in church this week." I kind of laughed to myself, thinking, "Duh, we're in church every week," and then Athena reminded me of what she'd said earlier. And we got to tell one of the elders (a DBZ fan) a little about Ueki no Housoku, so it was all good.
