Meanwhile, yesterday we got a pleasant surprise in the mail! A loooooooooooong long time ago this kid came by selling magazine subscriptions for a school (or something) fundraiser, because whoever sold the most subscriptions would win a trip, and he reeeeeally wanted to go to Italy. It's true that being honest about that stuff really works, because I couldn't help but sign up for a subscription. (Oh, who am I kidding? I probably would have signed up anyway, I'm such a sucker.) I seem to remember him saying something about sending postcards from Italy if he wins so that all the people who helped him out would know that he won, but it was a long time ago. So long ago, in fact, that we had started thinking we weren't actually going to get our magazines. But then last night we did! Yay!
And now we have a shiny new Disney Princess magazine. This month's issue features Ariel, Cinderella, and Pocahontas. It's very very cute, and I'm just sad that the one girl in the target age group that we know is one that we hesitate to share it with for political (or selfish) reasons. It was also a pleasant surprise to see that the artwork in the magazine was a lot better than I expected, and the collectible Ariel poster inside was very very pretty.
Speaking of Ariel, our Disney Shopping newsleter thingie today mentioned an adorable little digital camera with Ariel on it. It's only $20, though, so it's almost definitely not that great, but it might serve our purposes, since we only take pictures at AX, and sometimes we want to snap pictures of our adorable kitties. There's another cute Ariel one for $50 that's a little better, and the cuteness really is tempting, but we'll see what kind of money we have when AX gets closer. Maybe we'll get a fancier one. But we really like the idea of that Disney Photo software. And it comes with two additional faceplates! What do they look like!!? We really are suckers.
Today I'm thankful for catching Gilmore Girls right when the new episodes start, Disney Princess Magazine, getting to go grocery shopping yesterday, anime without explodey body parts, and the word shiny.
