Other than that today's been pretty good. It was our first Saturday in a very long time that we haven't been whisked away somewhere. So we spent it watching cartoons. Still nowhere near caught up on our anime, though. But it was a hilarious episode of Foster's.
I just have a minor rant about stupid angst. Katara's all like, "Sorry, it's just that when I imagine the face of the enemy, I've been imagining you." And Zuko thinks she's referring to his SCAR!? Hello? What about the fact that you were their enemy for the entire first season? Ugh.
I'm just tired of people missing the obvious. As for general thoughts on Avatar, it's a great idea with a lot of potential, but the writing, like Aang, needs to find balance. And Batman and Robin have spoiled us for fight scenes; you just can't beat stuff like Robin and Red X's motorcycle battle.
We also have a theory that Nick is trying to destroy Danny Phantom and put Avatar in its place, so maybe we have an unfair bias against it. In fact I've been composing a long essay about it, explaining why it's good but not that good, in response to its huge popularity on LJ and at the Butch Hartman forums. And yet we made it a point of watching the season finale. Full of contradictions. Oh well.
Today I'm thankful for getting to spend the day watching cartoons, getting to see an episode of Foster's that we had missed, the hope of getting to have ice cream tonight, finally getting to spend time with Oreo, and Tsubasa having a nice ending even if we didn't get to see Evil Syaoran in action. Maybe Sena will turn evil...? Yeah, right.
