happyday

Jam-packed

Today was jam-packed! We had to work extra to make up for our lack of work yesterday, and we're still not at the point we'd hoped to be at. We're not entirely surprised, but that doesn't make it any less of a bummer. Fortunately, we're pretty sure it won't set us back too too far tomorrow, and if we'd been on track, tomorrow might have been a short-ish workday. So now it will just be a normal, maybe slightly longer workday...unless we get hung up on research some more, which is a possibility that can't be denied.

We might have been able to just finish today's work anyway if we'd worked longer, but we couldn't! because we had a Relief Society activity to go to. So we went and hung out with our new friends and it was a lot of fun. We had the full-time missionaries do a presentation on how not to share the gospel, and then we paired up to practice good ways to talk about the gospel, and my partner and I (they made us pair up with people we weren't already sitting with) ended up talking about Harry Potter...and then tying it to prayer at the end. Eh heh heh.

The whole thing had me thinking about when we were talking to lyschan about the tragic tale of the first giraffes in Japan (you can look it up if you want, but I warn you, it's pretty depressing), and we were getting ourselves all sad and gloomy about it, and Athena said, "But the good news is, the Atonement makes it all better." And that helped us all feel better, so it was nice in the end.

After the activity, we stayed up late playing Animal Crossing, because we hadn't gotten to do all the stuff we wanted to do yet. And then we watched Miraculous, and now here we are.

Today I'm thankful for getting a fairly good amount of work done, getting to go to the activity, having a good time talking with people afterwards, managing to get most of the important stuff done in Animal Crossing (still haven't built our cave yet, but we'll get to it when we're not so pressed for time), and getting to watch some cool anime tomorrow.
