Recharging again

After church and scripture study, we mostly spent the day relaxing as usual. We got back to the super nerdy Jules Verne book, and it continues to be super nerdy, like, oh my heck. There's a whole chapter about using trigonometry to measure the earth, and I don't remember if it was the chapter before or after that that details the exact, very precise, procedure they used to take the measurements. Like, they even accounted for a change in size in their metal measuring sticks based on temperature and stuff. It's kind of mind-blowing to think that this is probably the kind of thing that went into figuring out the elevation of the earth that we see on all those signs on the highway as we go into different elevations. People went to very painstaking efforts to get those measurements! ...Or at least they did in the world of Jules Verne.

Earlier today I was kind of eager to get to tomorrow so we could get to the deep cleaning stuff and get it over with, but now that it's close to bedtime, it's all, "No no no no no no no I don't wanna I don't wanna I don't wanna!" But it's okay. We'll do it, and it will be done, and we'll have a cleaner apartment, and it will be nice.

That reminds me, I did some research on pest control, and it looks like they've come a long way since the days of just filling the whole space with poison. So that helps me feel a little bit better about the whole thing, although I'm still not a fan of having poison in places where I might accidentally touch it. I don't know. Plenty of people have had pest control done and they're fine, so I think it will be fine.

Today I'm thankful for Singing Time going pretty well, getting to spend the day resting, getting to have some croissant chips, the idea of having a cleaner apartment (especially once our nerves have calmed down about poison), and getting to take the sacrament.
