EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Oh my goodness, there's been lots of good news today. There's going to be a free update for Pokemon Snap, first of all! Eeeee! I'm so excited! ...Except that we still have a billion work, so we really shouldn't think about it that much. We'll be lucky if we get an hour every night or so.

The next good news is that the trailer for Edens Zero is up on Netflix now! Eeeeeee!!! More excitement! Seriously, I am unreasonably excited about this anime. And you can bet we watched the trailer in French to see if our favorite voice actor will be in the French dub! As far as we can tell, he's Shiki! AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! ...But we don't trust our voice-identification skills as much these days, and we know of at least one French voice actor with a similar voice, so we're not 100% sure. But we're like, 93% sure.

...In less good news, I'm kind of having another existential crisis about translating. We've been looking at a lot of other translations, like because we'll be translating a manga that's based on a light novel, or we'll be looking at subtitles, and we'll just want to change everything. But then we realize that the light novel and the subtitles may have all had editors that also wanted to change everything, and maybe what we consider to be unnatural English is actually perfectly fine, and by changing it, we're making it worse! I mean, I'm sure the editors on these other things thought they were improving the work, too. And I guess we've been in isolation for too long, because I feel like I don't even know what normal English is anymore. Or maybe it's just because I'm going through another phase.

But the point is. It would probably be a good idea to take some time to enjoy some entertainment that was originally written in English, probably within the last century. ...But right now there is no time. Only work.

Today I'm thankful for upcoming Pokemon Snap updates!, Edens Zero trailer!, our favorite French voice actor (probably) being Shiki!, making really good progress on work today (I mean, relatively speaking), and Eden Through the Rough.
