Not a role model

Today we finally got back to Fire Force. The afterword (or was it the cover flap?) said something about the second season of the anime just starting, and we were like, "Wow, it has been a long time."

I can't say what happens without spoiling things, of course, but I don't think it's too big of a deal to mention that Kurono is in this volume (especially because I'm not saying which volume it is). He's a character that is definitely problematic as a person. As a character, I actually think he's pretty amusing, though, and I think the series does portray him in a way that says, "No, guys, he is NOT a role model," so I think it's okay to have characters like that. Maybe if we had more "don't try this at home" warnings across the series, it would be better.

I admit, I also find Kurono to be a little bit relatable, mostly in that he never wants to do his job. ...But maybe I shouldn't admit that. I hope all of you know that I do not enjoy picking on small children. But it amuses me to see Kurono's efforts to get out of doing stuff.

Today I'm thankful for getting to work on Fire Force, finishing our first draft, finally reuniting those two Pokemons (we spent all our Pokemon Snap time in Elsewhere Forest today), getting to try out the show called Zero Chill, and happy paper craft kitties on our desk.
