Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year, everybody! We started ours by sleeping late, doing a few chores, and playing a lot of Animal Crossing. (We're in the middle of a campaign to clean up the excess flowers. We removed at least 80 today and there's still a lot to go!) Athena also tried some ranked battles in Pokemon.

Last night, we rang in the new year with our neighbors on Animal Crossing, and to be honest, it was probably the liveliest New Year's celebration we've had in years. We turned Animal Crossing back on an hour before the countdown, and once we'd got everyone wearing their happy new year hats, we didn't know what to do, so we went fishing for a while. About ten minutes before midnight, Athena remembered that we might want to see about catching some late-night sea creatures, so she hopped into the ocean and immediately caught our first spiny lobster! Tadah! ...And it's a good thing, too, because our Critterpedia told us it was only sticking around through the end of December. Hopefully it's the only one of those we missed!

Before that, we finished up the story in Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. Collapse )

Oh! I also started the new year by being asked to give a talk in church next week. Since tomorrow is fast & testimony meeting, I'll be giving the first official talk of the new year! ...I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Today I'm thankful for having a lovely New Year's countdown with our Animal Crossing friends, getting to play to the end of Melody of Memory, getting to sleep in this morning, catching a spiny lobster before they disappeared for nine months, and also getting to sleep in tomorrow.
