I realize that there are people out there who have probably had much, much, much more exhausting days than mine today. Nevertheless, I am very tired. My tired comes from more mundane things, but it's all I have to talk about.

It started at six this morning when the smoke alarm went off. Thankfully there was no emergency--it was just low on batteries. We did not have any new batteries, however, and pulling out the battery did not stop it from beeping, so we went to the breaker and shut off power to the smoke alarms. We figured there was no going back to sleep at that point, so we would just watch out for fires ourselves. Then we went back to bed to just lie there and not start the day until our regular get-up time.

We had high ideals of finishing a lot of Saiyuki, but they were quickly smashed when another monthly simulpub came in. We do still love that series, though. There's one monthly simulpub left, so we still can't count on having any one day to dedicate solely to Saiyuki (or the other book we have to do in these two weeks). We finished it up without taking too much time, but one of our publishers had sent us an updated style guide to read, and we had to be sure we didn't need to change our ways on anything. ...There were a couple of things we may need to change. Rargh.

We did eventually get to work on Saiyuki, and it wasn't going as quickly as we would have liked, but it was still going at a fairly good pace...and then Grawp called. But we were prepared for that one, so it didn't upset the schedule too much.

What really killed us is that we had run out of food, and that meant grocery shopping. We tried to order groceries from our shopping app, but we picked the wrong store, and it was closed today. Then we couldn't be sure what stores would be opened or closed, so we figured we might as well get some exercise and walk to our usual grocery store. And it was hot today. And our groceries were heavy. By the time we got home, I felt like my arms were going to stop working all together. And so we are even more exhausted than usual. But we did have time to play Animal Crossing.

Today I'm thankful for finishing the simulpub chapter without too much trouble, making good progress on Saiyuki despite holdups, getting to play Pokemon with Grawp, having groceries, and the lovely cool breeze coming in through the window.
