The usual

We just got back from watching The Pain again, so I have to stop and think about what all else we did today. (The Pain is what we call the season three finale of Miraculous.) Oh yeah, simulpubs. That's what we did today. And oh my goodness! There was a reference to the coronavirus. And only one of our simulpubs takes place in the current modern world, and we did that one last week.

Other than that...we talked on Facebook...about Miraculous! We sure do like that show. Cecille recently got back into it...which I may have mentioned the other day. Well anyway, now she's all caught up, and she's all looking up news and fan art and stuff. Thus we came to confront our feelings about fan art. They are mixed and complicated, is pretty much all I have to say about it.

Oh! And we looked up some of the Miraculous YouTube videos. There are Miraculous webisodes, and at first we just pretended they didn't exist, because Googling anything came with a risk of spoilers. Heck, even now that all the aired episodes are no Netflix, there's still a risk! It's a bit maddening. But now that we've seen all the legally available episodes, I feel that we would be remiss if we didn't make it a point to see all the extra videos that are also available. The tricky thing, of course, is that it's way easier to find the English language Miraculous YouTube channel.

The other tricky thing is that the French language Miraculous YouTube channel is...in...French. But! Athena has learned enough French that if we turn the captions on, she can figure out most of what they're saying! ...But they talk so fast, she can't interpret. And we try to pause it, but on our fancy TV, when you pause the YouTube app, it pulls up all kinds of things like the progress bar, the pause button, a bunch of related videos...that's the most annoying. I don't know what the odds are that people pause videos because they're already bored with them, but in my mind I imagine they would have already clicked over to something else. And if I pause a video, I usually still want to see what I have it paused on. But maybe that's just me.

Anyway. I guess the solution is to just watch them over and over like we do with the main show.

Today I'm thankful managing to finish the very strange dialogued simulpub we had to work on today, getting to gush about Miraculous with a friend, an unexpected encounter with a Mantine inspiring us to look up how to evolve Mantyke, finally managing to subscribe to the French language Miraculous YouTube channel, and Page finding a super cute new vantage point from which to watch Athena wave the cat toy.
