More changes on the way

It's the day after Thanksgiving, and it's been pretty much a normal Friday. We finished our translation of Sempai Is Annoying, which felt liberating for about two seconds, since we had to get right back to Saint Young Men as soon as we sent the email. The good news is, Saint Young Men is due on Tuesday, so we shouldn't have to worry about it after that. The bad news is, Saint Young Men is due on Tuesday, which may or may not give us enough time to finish it without working nonstop, especially since we have a monthly simulpub chapter coming in on Monday...possibly two.

Nevertheless, we are taking time off to rest, because our brain power has been depleted. I think I finally figured out that when I start to get sleepy at, like, seven-thirty, it's probably because we've been working really hard and need a break. So we took a break and played some Pokemon! We always go so slow with these games, because we want to make sure we're not missing anything.

But anyway, I heard the Disneyland fireworks going off in the distance, and that reminded me. They're changing Snow White's Scary Adventure! I have very mixed feelings about this, because while Galaxy's Edge did turn out to be pretty great, Disney hasn't been that great at doing Disney in a long time, and Snow White especially seems to get the short end of the stick a lot. Also, I was so excited to learn that it was the great Ken Anderson who designed the wonderful facade and queue area they've had since the '80s, and I really don't have faith in modern Disney that they can improve it. Why do they have to change it? It's so beautiful! The Snow White ride is one of the prettiest things in Fantasyland right now! They say they want to make it match Sleeping Beauty's Castle more. Hrrrrrm.

Of course they're also changing the inside of the ride. I guess people caught on to the fact that they drop a boulder on you and then it's happily ever after. But come on, there are so many other rides that kill you at the end! Mr. Toad, Soarin'...Indiana Jones kind of... And there are a couple at Universal Studios. At Universal, they either kill you or applaud you at the end, it's kind of weird.

They're going to use their fancy new special effects technology, too, which I'm generally not excited about, because these days it's almost all screens and projections. And they're going to have Snow White herself in the ride more, which is understandable if you keep forgetting that the guests on the ride are supposed to be taking on the role of Snow White. I don't know. Maybe they have some good ideas. We'll see.

Today I'm thankful for meeting our Sempai deadline, getting to watch Miraculous, getting to play Pokemon, getting to enjoy the beautiful Snow White facade, and getting to sleep in tomorrow.
