Back to work

I know I said we were going to California Adventure office today, but we considered the weather forecast and how tired we still were, and we decided to give it another day to cool down a little more. Plus, we had a simulpub to work on today. We had until tomorrow to finish it, but we like to get those out of the way quickly. So we'll be going to California Adventure tomorrow, and in the meantime, we got a head start on Sailor Moon! Oh my gosh, you guys, this arc is intense. And that's a very good thing, because that usually means more big pictures with less talking. We're making really good time on this volume so far, and we are very grateful for that.

I probably don't need to tell anyone that once quitting time came along, we spent the evening watching Miraculous. We were down to the last four episodes of season two again, and now we've seen all of both seasons three times! ...I wanted to say we've seen the whole series three times, but then I remembered that season three is airing right now. We will wait patiently, because we don't have much other choice.

I have a theory, based on our current similar behavior, about why young children have a habit of watching the same TV show or movie over and over and over again. I think that, because they're still new to the world and there's so much to take in, their brains get overloaded with information, so they watch reruns to help cool it down. Likewise, we burned ourselves out, so now that we've found a show that brings us great joy, we watch it repetitively to cool down and re-energize.

Other than that, there's not a whole lot of news. There is one thing I forgot to mention yesterday, and that is that we ordered a Stitch Fix! For those of you who may not know, Stitch Fix is a service where you fill out a style profile, and you schedule a "fix," and they assign a stylist to pick out five articles of clothing (or accessories) for you. We like it, but we haven't done it in a while, because we haven't really felt like we've had the extra money to do it.

We still don't feel that way, but! we had an idea, and we were hoping Stitch Fix could help us out with it. Why? Because the idea involves shopping for clothes, and it usually only takes us about five minutes of doing that before we give up in the name of hating clothes shopping. And that's why we're thankful for people who do enjoy clothes shopping!

Our idea is that we want to do some anime bounding at Anime Expo. You can attach a link to a Pinterest board to your style profile at Stitch Fix, and Athena has Pinterest so she can look for ideas for singing time. So she made an anime bounding board, and we attached the link to that to our style profile. Then we scheduled a fix, and we added a note to it saying that Anime Expo is coming up, and we want to do some bounding, please refer to our Pinterest board. We said ideally we'd get at least one set of tops for one set of characters.

And now we wait to see how it goes! We gave them plenty of time, though, so it will be a while before we know if our plan is a success. But it will be really cool if it is! The only two sets of characters on our board with Cyprine and Ptilol, and Sailors Lethe and Mnemosyne (we also added a note that we want to keep our shoulders covered), but I don't know if that will be a bigger or smaller challenge (less to have to look into, but fewer options). We'd like to bound Hinata and Hikage from Fire Force, too, but we couldn't find any pictures to add to the board. We think we can take care of that one on our own, if we decide we really want to do it, though. In the meantime, I'm really curious to see if our Stitch Fix stylist can come up with anything!

Today I'm thankful for getting to watch Miraculous repeatedly, having shipping confirmations for both of our Wizarding World crates this time, the super cute animal figurines we get in our Kinder Joys (I have an ostrich, Athena has a frilled lizard), the weather being cooler today than it was yesterday, and hearing that our sister's kids still love the plushies we had a hand in procuring for them.
