Kittens in the cattails

Oh my goodness, these kittens are too cute for our own good. We were sitting in the bedroom reading Harry Potter when suddenly we heard all this rustling outside. Well, rustling happens, so at first I just ignored it, but it just kept going and going, so my curiosity got the better of me and I had to check it out.

Across from the bedroom window is a row of cattail bushes. One of the is particularly dry because it's summer, and the kittens have decided that this is The Best place to play. The stalks of grass are positioned just so that a kitten can hop into the center of all of them and be the ruler of the cattail bush. All the rustling came from their fights for supremacy, and oh my goodness it was adorable. There was also an abandoned attempt at climbing the tree nearby. One last peek out the window before we came back to the computer revealed that most of the kittens have left, but one of them was nestled there in the center of the bush, just being the cutest thing ever.

We talked to their mother about how we want to help them, and told her that if she was tired of having kittens all the time, we could help but she had to get in the pink box, and I really have no idea if that's why we saw her lounging inside it during lunch today. We didn't want to make and hasty moves, especially because we want to take the whole family to the animal experts, so I explained to her that we wanted to help them all together, so if she could get her kittens in there, too, it would be great. At dinner time, all four kittens were snuggled together in the cat carrier. So I told her that if she would get in there with them at the time we can get a ride (I told her when that was, of course), then we could take them all to get help. We'll see how it goes.

Today I'm thankful for getting to see the kittens in the cattails, having a lovely time reading Harry Potter, getting to talk to people at church today, getting to partake of the sacrament, and being pretty good a flipping pancakes now.
