I'm so tired and yet I feel like I haven't worked that much today. But we did work that much today. We worked all day...except for when the pizza was in the oven and we played Kingdom Hearts. There were also some brief pauses to play other silly apps...but I didn't think they were that long. No more than ten minutes. But I guess ten minutes can add up. But it only happened maybe twice.

Also, our schedule was completely thwarted by the arrival of this month's UQ Holder!. I did think it might arrive today, but I shrugged it off because I didn't remember seeing Ken Akamatsu tweet about finishing it yet. He had, though; I just wasn't paying enough attention. But it would have been perfect timing, actually, because our schedule was thwarted by something else, too! I think I mentioned yesterday...? Wednesday? That we couldn't find the book we wanted to translate. Well, we emailed our editor, and she sent us a(nother?) copy and said it's totally cool if we can't get it in until Monday. Originally it was due today. But it would seem that she did not overnight the book, so it's probably going to be impossible to finish it by the end of Monday... Well, with this series, it might not be impossible, even if it doesn't get here until Monday, but oh man, we've been pushing ourselves so hard already. We might have to do it anyway, because our schedule is still so...whatever it is. Anyway, we're wondering if maybe our editor thought all of these Fridays and Mondays were in reference to the ones happening a week later. Well, we'll just see how things go.

So it would have been pretty nice, just doing a chapter of UQ Holder! and then finishing up this other translation we're working on, but! arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, this chapter of UQ Holder. The script for it is the longest it's been since it went to a monthly schedule, by at least 30% of average. And it was all news reports and brainstorming and explanations of why ideas wouldn't work, and angsty monologues and uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. ...We're not spoiling anything, are we? Anyway, I actually don't think it's a bad chapter; just exactly the worst kind of chapter that could come along when we're already so squeezed for time.

And so we didn't have enough time to finish up this other translation. Of course, that wasn't only UQ Holder's fault. There were two different kinds of dialects we had to deal with, and a kanji that we couldn't find anywhere. It was the most obnoxious thing, because usually when we can't find a kanji, it's because it's handwritten, so we can't make out what it's supposed to be. But this one was printed, clear as day, and it just wasn't in our dictionaries. But! it turned out to be a good thing in the end, because as a result of our exhaustive search, we found out how to Google kanji that you know what they look like but not how to read them. This will be very useful in the future if we can just remember how we did it. (If we don't have this problem for several months, there's a good chance we'll forget.)

And now I am again being aggressively attacked by the sleepies. It's time to go to bed.

Today I'm thankful for learning how to Google kanji, the new Coliseum boards for December, finishing that chapter of UQ Holder, Saturday sleep-in time, and having a kitty that loves us even though we spend all our time working (she tried to help today...).
