It just goes on and on my friends

Belated Happy Easter, everybody! I hope it was a lovely day for everyone. We were once again invited to join the family we spent last Easter with, but this time, we only stayed for a little while until we went to another city to celebrate Easter with the other side of the family. (Our friends from church are an old married couple; the first half of Easter was with her side of the family, the second half was with his.) We didn't know anybody (though we were very mildly acquainted with some people from her side of the family (her mom's in our ward, too)), but they were all friendly and our friends didn't ever go off and leave us surrounded by strangers, so it was pretty nice. The second half of the evening was at a beautifully restored historic home, too, which was really nice to see. (Sorry I'm not very creative with adjectives right now; I feel like I've used up the pool of words in my head.)

The rest of the weekend kind of exploded, though, which is why we've been incommunicado for the last few days. It was kind of special. The plan for Saturday was to finally get some chores done so we could feel good about going to Downtown Disney and finish the third of the three different Easter Egg Hunts that had been going on down that way. Time seems to evaporate pretty quickly on Saturdays, so we were already terrified that we wouldn't have time to get everything done...and then there was an email. An emergency work email asking if we could please translate this file over the weekend. Well, we couldn't leave our project manager hanging like that, so of course we said yes, and there were no hard feelings at all, just busyness.

And we were adamant that we were going to finish that Easter Egg Hunt. So we went to Downtown Disney and we did it anyway, and now we finally have the Minnie Mouse egg to go with the Mickey Mouse egg we got for doing the Disneyland hunt. (We could have gotten Minnie for the California Adventure hunt, but for some reason we were under the delusion that we wouldn't be so pressed for time that we couldn't come back some Saturday, and so we got the Cheshire Cat instead.) But on the way home, we ran into a good friend from our old home growing up, and now we're friends on Facebook! And if not for that encounter, I would have felt like we made a horrible, horrible decision when internet trouble made it very difficult to finish translating that file in a timely manner. We ended up going to bed an hour late.

That was okay, we told ourselves, because we just had to finish this one manga translation on Monday, and then we convinced ourselves that we wouldn't have Noragami to work on until Wednesday, because we went with slower shipping when we ordered our copy, and so Tuesday would be our day to do important things like chores and grocery shopping. And if you haven't guessed by now that the mailman showed up with our package this morning, then I will pat myself on the back for not being predictable. Or something. On the bright side, he showed up with two packages, and unless I'm very wrong, we got not only Noragami 16, but a new Noragami Aragoto soundtrack to listen to while we translate it. (We haven't opened the packages yet; we don't have time for that.)

The other bright side is that, while Athena was doing her part on the file, and the internet problems were being problematic, I thought hey, we just got this extra work which means extra money--let's go ahead and order a loom! And we got a shipping confirmation on that this morning!

...And I feel like I had more to say, but maybe it's just the constant sense of never being finished. Oh well. For tonight, Family Home Evening and Sailor Moon.

Today I'm thankful for having a lovely Easter with friends and their families, finishing the translation we were working on today, having a big bag of Reese's pieces that may or may not last past tonight, reuniting with old friends, and new Noragami.
