Disney day

Today is going to be an awesome Disney day. We already spent the first half of it translating Kingdom Hearts II manga, and oh my goodness, the one Very Dramatic scene in Hollow Bastion is so much more dramatic in the manga! Seriously, the first time we played the game, I thought Mickey was gonna go totally ballistic, and then there was this version...

...But anyway. Very soon we're going to head over to Disneyland for the Sing-Along Under the Stars. In fact, it's likely that the only reason we're making time for LiveJournal at all is that the CD we put in to listen to while we finished our first draft of that KH volume is still going on. That's one nice thing about Kingdom Hearts manga--the first draft almost always goes very quickly.

That being the case...I don't have a whole lot else to say. But since we're going to watch The Little Mermaid tonight, I do have that on my mind, and I just want everyone in the world to realize that Ariel did not "change for her man." She wanted to be a human before she met Eric--she sings Part of That World before she even knows Eric exists! And when she finally does decide to change herself, it's not for Eric. It's to spite her father. (Of course, that's not a better reason, but that kind of thing doesn't take any credit away from certain other redheaded princesses I can think of.) So if anybody tries to tell you Ariel changed for her man, you give them what-for! ...Or at least maybe, y'know, politely point out that maybe that's not why Ariel went to Ursula.

And as Xion's theme comes up on this CD, I realize again that we haven't played Kingdom Hearts II since before 358/2 Days came out. Oh man, how is that going to change the perspective on everything, knowing what all Roxas did before KH2 started? Someday, 2.5 ReMix is going to come out, and then we'll know. Or we could just play KH2 anyway, but we don't have that kind of time. We're too busy trying to get unstuck in Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Today I'm thankful for getting to work on Kingdom Hearts again, finishing our first draft very quickly, ONTD letting us know that Aladdin is a writer on a TV show now, neat ideas for things to have played on the pennywhistle, and getting to go to another Sing-Along Under the Stars tonight.
