Triumph! ...ish

Our Halloween costumes are finished! Almost! They're at a point where anything else that needs doing can be fixed with safety pins, and inconspicuous ones at that. We even managed to get shoes to match them! (Since our feet will be visible, we figured we should probably at least not wear our old white sneakers, which will definitely not go with the black tights we'll be wearing.) And I think they'll even probably look pretty good. They've been stressing me out this whole time, because I've never made anything like them and oh no what if I messed up and they look terrible!?!?!?!?

We tried them on several times throughout the costume-making process, and we're pretty sure they'll look fine, but I keep thinking, "But unless we had it just so, it looked really weird!" Except that I'm not sure that's entirely true. I think I'm just too close to the situation. Like when you stare at a word for too long and it starts to not look like a real word.

And soon we will be leaving for Gaston's house, whence we will leave for Mickey's Halloween Party tomorrow morning. Oh man, it's been a whole year since we've been to Disneyland. It doesn't quite feel like it's been that long, but it has.

Today I'm thankful for finishing our costumes (mostly), having shoes that the women at Payless swear are super comfortable and that we can also use for church shoes, Mom and Steve being nice enough to drive us all over town to get costumes supplies, fleece-lined leggings, and getting to see Gaston and Alice's costumes soon.
