Return of the Host Quiz

Last night...not last night. Two nights ago, we were once again entertaining ourselves by being entertained by ourselves, by which I mean we were reading our old LiveJournal entries. One thing led to another, and we decided, instead of clicking on a tag at random, to just go ahead and read all the entries on our "host quiz" tag. It was a really interesting experience, because...I guess I should explain what the host quiz is before the rest of that sentence, or it won't make sense.

Years ago, when we were obsessed with Ouran High School Host Club, and when people were still posting things on LiveJournal, and when people made personality quizzes on Quizilla, we took a bunch and thought, "We can make a better quiz than that!" So we made a "Which Host Club character are you?" quiz. And it was Awesome. It involved an imaginary scenario, and asked the quizee how they'd react to the various developments in the scenario. And re-reading our quiz was a really interesting experience, because it was like, "Whoa, this isn't how we write!" ...Although come to think of it, maybe it is. But we have been reading our own entries lately, and the style seemed different. But it was such a funny quiz (not that I don't think we're funny)...and that parenthetical has made me forget where I was going with the rest of that sentence.

The point is, it was hilarious. So here it is again! But I can't put it under a cut, because I'm using LJ-cut technology to hide which answer goes with which host. You can click on your answer to reveal the host for that answer, and tally them up at the end! According to our "making of the quiz post," we embellished some of the questions a little when we posted it on Quizilla, so these ones aren't as good, but another LJ entry tells us Quizilla took down the quiz long ago, so we can't get the better version. Also, all our files were on our second to last computer...which makes them almost impossible to retrieve at this point, so we can't get the descriptions that we wrote for anyone, except for Haruhi and Honey.

1. First things first. Your club is hosting an Medieval Europe themed party. Of course, you will all be in costume. You will be dressed as…

Note: Special thanks to baranoneko for giving us the suggestion for the Hikaru & Kaoru answer. That was brilliant.

5. Now it’s time for the party. It starts beautifully, but doesn’t get far before a young man bursts in, and tells a sad, sad story about how he had been planning to confess his feelings to his true love, but on his way to meet her, he slipped on a banana peel, dropping the one-of-a-kind pendant he was planning to give her on the occasion. He begs you to help him find it. You…

Note: This was actually a cop-out question. We took the answers from the Host Ranger merchandise at the Animate website. But as a special note, that means that when they go to the mall and watch the Host Ranger show, the Host Ranger [redacted] is voiced by the voice of Kyoya.

12. The party reaches its close, and all it needs now is a climax. You come across a banana peel on the floor and…

Tadah! We hope it's still as funny now as it was then! We're still a little sad that we lost the descriptions, because apparently the first sentence of our Tamaki one was brilliant. Judging from the Haruhi and Honey descriptions we still have, those were the best character descriptions we've ever written.

Today I'm thankful for the chance to revisit our Host Quiz, getting our Tiger & Bunny shirts in the mail, being reminded that we do have the ability to write creatively, getting to watch Goof Troop last night, and the cinnamon & sugar popcorn we had for a snack today.
