Something to squee about♪

Today is a squeeful day! ...Or it would be, if we hadn't been working all day. Excitement tends to cool when you have to force yourself to focus on something else for a while. It started with an email from CD Japan that let us know that one of our favorite voice actors is releasing his first song album in April! We were like, "Yay! We'll have to remember that for our birthday."

And then...we went to Anime News Network. And one of the items of news they had for us today (or maybe it showed up yesterday, but we saw it today) was that ten male voice actors have gotten together and made an album of Disney songs! And our reaction was EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

And we went straight to CD Japan to order it! ...Only we didn't finish the order, because we hate to order only one thing from a place with such high shipping costs, and we didn't have time to think about what other CDs we wanted when we had work to do. After work, we remembered that there's going to be a Tiger & Bunny character song album, so now we've ordered both! And again I say EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

It's been a very long time since we've been this excited about voice actors. Not that we ever stopped loving them, just that we haven't had time to watch much anime. But now that they're singing Disney songs... It's like they took our two favoritest things EVER and put them together! (Kind of like when they made Kingdom Hearts... aaah, Kingdom Hearts. And Reese's. Mmm, Reese's...)

And! and! one of the singers is Takahiro Sakurai! We thought he'd given up on singing entirely! But he's back! (Maybe he never left; like I said, we've been out of the seiyuu obsession business for a while.) And he's singing When You Wish Upon A Star! *swoon!*

And! Toshiyuki Morikawa is singing Once Upon A Dream! We were never really big fans of his, but that's only because we haven't seen any characters of his that we really like. The man has an amazing voice, and! we have his autograph. It's also highly amusing to think of Sephiroth singing Once Upon A Dream to Jenova. ...We have a twisted sense of humor.

And Kenichi Suzumura is singing A Whole New World! And we were like, "Is he singing it with his wife!? That would be soooo cute!" And it would sound amazing, because he's married to Maaya Sakamoto. But he probably isn't because the CD is called something like Disney Date with the Princes of Voice, so having a woman sing on it would kind of defeat the purpose. (Anime News Network provided a link to hear samples, but we didn't listen to any of them because we're going to buy the CD anyway.)

And! Tomokazu Seki is singing Go The Distance! There's a Hercules song! EEEEEEE!!!!

Ahem, anyway. We're pretty excited about the whole thing. Miyu Irino is singing Under The Sea, just like he did in Kingdom Hearts II, only all by himself this time (we imagine). Kouichi Yamadera is singing Circle of Life, which we figured he chose (or was assigned) because The Lion King is probably one of the few Disney movies that he's not in the official cast of. If he sang Under The Sea, it wouldn't be a cover.

The only problem now is that we have to wait forever until it comes out (February 22). Four weeeeeeks *whine*! (Hey, that's World Thinking Day!) Oh well. It's fun to have things to look forward to! And that should keep us occupied until Kingdom Hearts 3D comes out at the end of March.

Today I'm thankful for Japanese voice actors singing Disney songs, that refund from our last order helping this impulse buy to not hurt quite so much, the amusing thought of Lelouch singing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, the Tiger & Bunny CD we want coming out before the Disney Date one (because we can wait a little for Tiger & Bunny, but not for Disney Date), and having something to squee about.
