Work and Saludos Amigos

Whew. Today has been a lot easier, but still not easy. But! we almost finished our first draft of Negima!, and it's only six-thirty! We may actually have some free time tonight! We would almost definitely have some free time tonight, but we have Home Evening Group to go to. I want to play Set again, but somehow I'm thinking that's not going to happen. Then again, the only reason I have to believe that is that we played it last time, and we have been known to play a game over and over. On the other hand, I think more people like Balderdash/the dictionary game than like Set. But again, I could be wrong.

(Incidentally, we're not big fans of the dictionary game. It's a good little exercise in creativity, but...I don't know, I just don't like it.)

We watched Saludos Amigos last night for the first time in like three years. Still pretty funny. I think it would be neat if Disney did a bunch more cartoons like those, where they explore other countries and other cultures. On the other hand, I can see where some people might think something like Saludos Amigos is offensive, with Donald being your typical American tourist and Goofy making gags about gauchos. But I've read that Saludos Amigos was very well received in South America, and the only complaint South Americans had was from the countries that weren't featured (their complaint, of course, being that they wanted a cartoon about them, too). It's so hard to be politically correct these days...

Anyway, we still have places to go and people to see! Today I'm thankful for having some Payday on hand for morale boosts, not needing the morale boosts (morale stays good and we still have Payday to eat later), being almost done with our first draft of this volume of Negima!, and getting to watch Saludos Amigos again.
