Please hold

Today we are waiting on materials. We were pretty sure we were going to get some this morning, but we didn't, so it looks like we're going to be taking at least most of the day off. We consider this to be a good thing, because it turns out that we're going to the vineyard today. Our ward has a big assignment for the harvest, and we're only a little ward, so we're going to rely on other wards for help. But first, since there were a lot more weeds this year than usual, the bishopric thinks we should all go do some weeding to make everything easier come harvest time. We try not to think about it too much, because when it's just a short, "Yup, going to the vineyard today," it's fine, but when we start thinking about everything that involves, we start to really hate the idea.

In the meantime...we're not entirely sure what to do with ourselves. We watched a couple of episodes of Sacred Seven (Miyu Irino plays a butler!), and we went to the store to get envelopes and stuff. We found out one of our bosses has been working twelve hour days, so we got really motivated to turn in all our assignments really fast! to help the process along, but we still don't have books, so there's not really anything we can do yet.

Last night, Celeste came over to pick up some of the stuff we'd been storing for her, and she told us all about her new teaching job. I do not envy teachers all the stress and hard work they go through, but she sure has a lot of fun stories. For example, she was taking roll in one of her classes, and she called a name and the person said, "Actually, I go by XXX." And she was like, "Oh yeah, if any of you go by a name other than what's on the roll, let me know so I can call you what you want to be called." And one of her kids was like, "Will you call me Dragonslayer?"

Today I'm thankful for getting to relax before heading out to the vineyard, fun stories about Celeste's students, getting to watch Sacred Seven, the ability to work fast, and remembering that we need to make some drinking chocolate.
