Almost there.

We're getting closer! There's a light at the end of the tunnel!

...I kind of feel bad complaining so much about Negima!. We do like it. We just don't like looking up archaic Japanese vocabulary. It's kind of a nice feeling when we find the right thing, though! But on the other hand, it's a very not nice feeling to find something that looks like it might be it, but not be sure. And then since we can't find anything else, we go with it, but then! when we're looking for something completely different! there it is! The right thing! And it's different than the thing we went with! At least we found it before sending the translation in. That's definitely a relief.

But anyway, we just finished our rough draft of the Classical Japanese translation, and tomorrow we have to go over it to make sure it's okay, and that should take care of all the super difficult stuff, except for some Greek, a tiny bit of Cyrillic, and one more bit of Sanskrit. Apparently we really need to brush up on our alphabets of the world. But fortunately, I think we've dealt with all but the Sanskrit when translating later volumes, so it shouldn't be too hard.

In the meantime, not much else is happening, because all our time is taken with looking up Sanskrit and stuff. We had a little bit of time to play Kingdom Hearts yesterday...and that reminds me! It's completely unrelated to anything we did in Kingdom Hearts last night, but I've been wanting to mention this for a long time. In Birth by Sleep, they have a board game type mini-game, and in one of the board games, you can play with Winnie the Pooh characters. When we were playing the Japanese version of the game, Pooh would say "itadakimasu," and something about the way he said it tugged at a corner of my brain.

Eventually I realized! that's the same way Honey-sempai says "itadakimasu" in Ouran High School Host Club! It's just interesting because they're both have relationships with honey.

Today I'm thankful for being able to correct that one note before turning it in, finding almost all the weird things we had to look up (if anyone happens to know what "miakarabimasu" means...), having chocolate, the opportunity to learn about different religions and alphabets and stuff through Negima!, and getting to go to bed early last night.
