Princess Tutu marathon.

We just got back from a Princess Tutu marathon with Leia! Okay, so just got finished having a snack after getting back from a Princess Tutu marathon with Leia, but the point is we had a Princess Tutu marathon. Wow, it's been so long since we've watched this series. It's so amazing. It makes me want to learn ballet and write classical music and be in an orchestra and write amazing fairy tales and...

We didn't have time to watch the whole series, so we only watched the first half, and one of Leia's comments was that it's so weird. And we were like, "And that's just the first half!" We've actually only seen the second half once all the way through, which makes me a little sad. But! Leia wants to get together to watch the second half before the month is out, so! we should get to see it again soon.

One of the things my mind wandered to during the show (it's a great show, but I've seen it already so it's not going to have my constant attention) was how ADV translated the name Ahiru. Duck is, of course, an accurate translation, and translating the name really is the best choice as far as dialogue and double meanings and stuff, but I kept thinking about how I wish they'd made it more...namey. So I was like, "Is there another word for duck that would work? Like Drake? But that's a boy's name, of course... Hmmm..." Eventually I realized that Duckling would have been a pretty decent name. Like in all the Grimm's fairy tales with a hero named Dumbling. So now in my head her name is Ahiru or Duckling.

Today I'm thankful for getting to watch Princess Tutu again, getting to share it with a friend, ballet music, Fakir dancing, and the super yummy double chocolate cookies we baked last night (from pre-made dough).
