Song time

Wow, today has been another long day at church. It started early because we had interviews with the stake president to get our temple recommends! Tadah! And since we both passed, now we just need to get our temple clothes, and we'll be set.

After sacrament meeting, it was time for me to ditch Sunday school so I could rehearse the song Celeste and Sarah were going to sing. I'm glad it's such a good song, because I spent like all my free time practicing it yesterday, but I'm still not tired of it. Although the performance didn't go so well, so now there are some bitter memories associated with it, but... oh well. Athena went to Sunday school, though; it was about Moses and getting the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Next was Relief Society, and then it was time for choir practice. I'm afraid we've convinced the choir director that we're plotting mutiny. We're going to have to work even harder to keep our comments to ourselves. She is in charge, after all.

Finally it was time for the meeting where we were going to perform... but there were a couple of talks first, and one of them took a very long time. But eventually it got to be our turn. Celeste got emotional and had a hard time singing through her tears (the song's kind of a tearjerker). But she did a good job, considering, Athena says. I couldn't tell because the piano had me facing away from her, and I was too busy trying to keep my hands from shaking. Hours upon hours of practicing, and I regularly accompany hymns for Relief Society, and yet when it gets to "performance time," I get all nervous.

Anyway. I like the song so much, I wanted to share the lyrics. Collapse )

Today I'm thankful for pretty songs, getting our temple recommends, Celeste being kind enough to drive us to church early for our interviews, having Dove chocolate eggs, and handy choir binders.
