I kinda wish I knew the lyrics to the song in my head.

It's been a pretty nice, relaxing weekend so far. We had sort of planned to walk to the store to pick up a few things, but with the heat we wanted to wait until evening, and then Mom called and said she wanted us to go to her place tonight to meet Steve's dad, so we're like, "Eh, maybe some other day." Because we're lazy slackers. But we did do laundry! Yay!

We ended up going to the movies earlier than expected last night, but that just meant we got to see Wall-E sooner, so it was all good. We didn't want to rush to the show that was just starting, so we got tickets to the next show and then had ice cream. There's a place next to the theater called Maggie Moo's that's like Coldstone Creamery, only called Maggie Moo's. And their ice cream is a little more technicolored. I tried some red velvet cake ice cream with brownies and chocolate syrup. The ice cream tasted like chocolate cake batter, which was kind of odd. It was good, but there was too much of it for me to finish, sadly. I hate to see good ice cream go to waste.

Wall-E was an awesome movie, but since there was so little dialogue, we came out of it feeling like we used to way back in the day, when we still didn't know any Japanese but insisted on watching anime without subtitles (we didn't really have any with subtitles, you see). It's an odd feeling, like you've been in isolation or a vacuum or something. So when we got home, we put in Hare + Guu for something upbeat, with lots and lots of talking. (We would have played Haruka 4, but we didn't want to stay up too late, which we knew that would inevitably lead to, since we haven't been getting enough sleep this week.) It was the one with the Power Ranger parody, and this time we finally got the joke when they commented on Gupta eating curry. Thank you, volume 13 of Fruits Basket.

And today was mostly spent with our shiny new video game. There's this one impossible battle that we were determined to make not impossible, but it insisted on being impossible anyway, so we had no choice but to give in. But all after that, we were like, "Maybe if we'd been smart enough to learn the healing spell, it wouldn't have been impossible!" But we didn't have any saves far enough back, and we weren't sure we wanted to go on to the end of the chapter before repeating it. So we started the whole game over.

Fortunately, we were only on chapter two, and chapter one is pretty dang short, so it didn't take too long to get there. But we were still determined to make this battle not impossible, and it was still determined to be impossible, so we spent a looooooong time battling with this battle. And in the end, we lost anyway. But on the bright side, we're now determined that Ashvin's velvet is probably black, and I already have plenty of black velvet (got it for three dollars a yard back in the Garment District). Yay!

Today I'm thankful for getting to see Wall-E, having something to pull us out of the mind-vacuum afterwards, having more time to play Haruka4 (though not that much more time, sadly), having black velvet (not that we've really decided who exactly we want to cosplay from Haruka4, but it's nice to be prepared. And velvet is really nice), and having clean laundry.
