I can't believe we're going to Japan!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Sorry; just had to get that out of my system. Most of the terror has subsided and made room for more excitement, so things are looking pretty good right now. We still have a few things to take care of before we're all ready to go, though, so there's still a little terror. There's always the concern that we'll forget to pack something that's vitally important. At least since we're not going to a convention, we don't have to worry about getting every part of every costume packed. And this time, we have enough money that if we're missing something really important, we can probably buy a replacement or something.

We spent most of today tidying up the apartment and saying, "That's enough of that," and taking a break before getting back to work. I'd say we're about halfway packed. We walked to the grocery store today, because there were a couple of things we still needed and we figured it was a good way to get some sun and build up some walking endurance before wandering around Tokyo. And then, since it was almost right next door, we went to Office Depot and picked up a CD wallet, because we're behind the times and still have no mp3 players. And also because we're shut-ins and don't usually need to carry CDs or mp3s around with us anywhere, because we never go anywhere. But now we have a shiny CD wallet to carry our CDs in, which is very important for the long plane ride.

I checked to see what LDS wards meet in the area, and it looks like the closest one listed is the English speaking ward. Sad. We want to go to a Japanese speaking one. We'll see what happens, I guess. We're still not sure how well we'll do with the whole transportation thing anyway, so...

We're leaving in two days! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!

Well sort of. We're leaving for Los Angeles in two days. We leave for Japan in three. We're so excited to go to Tokyo Disneyland. We were looking at the geese on the way to the store (Fresno has a lot of Canada geese) and getting really excited about what kind of birds might be wandering around Tokyo Disneyland. It's the little things.

Today I'm thankful for CD wallets, limousine buses, vitamin D, magic carry-on bags that are apparently bigger on the inside than the outside, and Canada geese.
