Oh hey, it's Walt Disney's birthday!

Man, where is everybody today? If ever we needed a bit of distraction to help us deal with stress, today is... one of those days.

Unfortunately, most of the stress has to do with the Big Plans, and we're not quite ready to let people know what those are yet. If we keep pushing ourselves, it should be soon, but seriously, just because they're big to us doesn't mean they're big to anyone else, so... yeah.

So I guess I can talk about why we're so reluctant to talk about them. There are three main reasons that I've boiled it down to. The first comes from an experience we had around our twelfth birthday. Rob Paulsen and Jess Harnell, the voices of Yakko and Wakko Warner in Animaniacs, were doing an autograph session at the local Warner Brothers Studio Store. Of course we were super excited, and we were all ready to sing the Nations of the World with Rob Paulsen. Dad was holding our place in line while we were looking at the Animaniacs merchandise, and we were talking to this girl and we told her our plan. Unbeknownst to us, she had a place in front of us in line, and she stole our idea! Well, we don't know if she stole it; she might have already had it. But since then, we've decided to be extra cautious.

The second reason is that it's exciting and we want to tell everyone about it! But it's also very scary, so we have a hard time making ourselves actually work on it. So not allowing ourselves to tell people is one of the many things we're using as motivation. We also won't allow ourselves to order anything from CD Japan until we're done, and we still haven't ordered the Goku episode of Saiyuki Burial.

And I think the third reason is the biggest. In the past, we've planned big things, and they've fallen through. Usually when that happens I come right to Live Journal and report all about it, but that doesn't stop people from asking, weeks later, "Hey, whatever happened with that thing you were doing?" "Oh, our hopes were crushed into itty bitty bits, but thanks for the reminder--I needed a little more self-pity today." It is nice that they remembered we had those plans, though. And it's kind of a silly reason, because the idea is that our plans won't fall through. But there it is.

Of course, there's also the reason that we come from a family of drama queens, and where would be the fun in just telling everybody? With potentially a little bit of, "But if I tell everyone my wish, it won't come true!" We're working on it, though. And it's stressing us out like you wouldn't believe. Well, maybe you would. I don't know. And we're sort of calmer than we were earlier. I'm shutting up now.

Today I'm thankful for the weather being not to cold to walk to Home Depot, getting to see the season finale of Beauty and the Geek, the surprisingly motivating e-mail from Disney Movie Rewards, the "Nakayoku Natte-miyou!" game at Koge-Donbo's website, and written language.
